Puno 3 Days / 2 Nights
Capital City and Department situated in southern Peru at an altitude of 3800 meters above sea level. It is considered the folkloric capital of Peru. In the Department of Puno is located The Lake Titicaca, the highest navigable lake in the world, 193 kilometers long, 64 kilometers wide, and 300 meters deep. It is an extreme highland environment and possesses the southernmost section of the Peruvian Eastern Andes, which continue into Bolivia with the name of CORDILLERA REAL. In LAKE TITICACA are the famous Floating Island of THE Uros, Taquile, Amantani. And others. Another site of special interest are the funerary Towers of SILLUSTANI. In the month of February is held the great FESTIVITY OF LA VIRGEN DE LA CANDELARIA.

Itinerary
DAY 1 CUSCO – PUNO.
Transfer hotel to the bus station, we leave early in the morning on tourist bus which stop at four site along the way to Puno: the fist one is Andahuaylillas, this church is considered The Sistine Chapel of the America, inside the church we can find a variety of paintings and important murals dating from the XVI, XVII centuries.
The church is an outstanding example of colonial art.
Raqchi. Temple dedicated to Wiracocha supreme god of the Incas, we appreciate the ancient structures, temples, storehouses, also a great wall surrounds the citadel in an extension of 10 Km. Lunch in Sicuani
La Raya. Is the highest pass on the route this point is the conjunction of the cordilleras and origin of the Vilcanota river, we admire in this area the snow topped peaks, heards of alpacas and vicuñas.
Pukara. Archaeological complex consisting of a pyramidal structure. Here we find the first sing of civilized culture in the Peruvian altiplano. After seven or eight hours arrive to Puno. Overnight in Puno
DAY 2 UROS – TAQUILE – PUNO.
Transfer to the port, we will take a motorboat to Uros ( 25 minutes aprox) is the unique floating reed island on a man made where tha native people live totally interwoven with the totora reed which grow abundantly in the shallow lake, the people of Uros build canoes made from totora they use those for transportation and fishing.
After a briefvisit at Uros, we will continue our trip to Taquile island ( 45 minutes aprox). This is a fascinating island on the lake, it has several hills with inca terracing. The people wear colorful traditional clothes which they make themselves.
In the afternoon go back to Puno. Overnight in Puno.
DAY 3 PUNO – LIMA.
Early in the morning pick up from hotel to the airport, on the way tour to Sillustani ( 40 minutes aprox), it is a site from the Pucara and Tiawanaco Culture, it sits on a hilltop overlooking lake Umayo with a good variety of flora and water birds like the giant Andean coot, the puna ibis, the white tufted, the Andean gooso, the andean gull and others..
In Sillustani we find hundreds funerary towers called Chullpas, those were built by the Incas in the 15 th century. Continue to the airport.
